\nwith automation and
\nmodel solutions for a new hot strip mill at a plant of Ternium Mexico S.A. de C.V. (hereinafter, \u201cTernium Mexico\u201d) in Pesqueria, Mexico. The new systems offer improved productivity and product quality.<\/p>\n
Ternium Mexico takes a central role in the steel business under the umbrella of the Techint Group based in Argentina, which is handling industries such as steel, petroleum, gas, and construction. The new plant, based in Pesqueria, is one of the Company\u2019s primary plants in Mexico. In addition to ordinary steel, the hot strip mill was introduced to increase the production of various steel grades, such as steel materials for automotive structures and steel materials for high-strength line pipes for LNG transportation.<\/p>\n
To respond to an increase in production of various types of steel, TMEIC supplied its state-of-the-art motor and drive system along with its automation and model solution system, both of which have been developed based on the Company\u2019s extensive knowledge and engineering capabilities. The characteristics of the currently delivered products and systems are as follows.<\/p>\n
Employs the TMdrive series, an integrated drive system that realizes a high input power factor, mitigation of harmonics and high efficiency, and optimally structures converters, the motor control center, and other relevant equipment for motor and drive systems.<\/p>\n
Utilizes the most advanced automation system to deliver high-precision product thickness, board width, temperature, material quality, and stable operation.<\/p>\n
Applies the latest Material Properties Prediction System (MPPS) to boost product quality and yield.<\/p>\n
After the purchase order of products and systems for the plant\u2019s facilities, TMEIC completed delivery and onsite startup operation, with operations thereafter commencing from May 2021 following the completion of other construction. The plant has since been carrying out stable operations and expanding production volume, whereby annual production is expected to increase to over 4 million tons.<\/p>\n
