TMEIC Filed Additional Patent Infringement Lawsuit in South Korea Concerning Uninterruptible Power Systems

TMEIC Corporation (President & CEO Akira Kawaguchi; hereinafter, “TMEIC” or “the Company”) has filed a patent infringement lawsuit concerning its Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) patent against Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo) and Fuji Electric Korea Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, South Korea) with the Seoul Central District Court on October 2, 2025, seeking both an injunction against patent infringement and damages.

As announced in the Company’s press release dated August 29, 2025, the Korea Trade Commission concluded at its August 28, 2025 meeting that the actions of Fuji Electric constitute unfair trade practices.

This lawsuit represents an additional action in the series of patent infringement cases concerning the UPS product, initially announced on October 2, 2024.

TMEIC has filed numerous patent applications related to circuit configurations and other technologies aimed at improving the conversion efficiency of its UPS, reducing power consumption, and achieving compact, lightweight UPS designs.

TMEIC regards intellectual property as a key management asset and will continue to respond firmly and
appropriately to any infringement of its intellectual property rights.
